Recently, the Institute of Metal Research of Tohoku University (referred to as the Institute of Metal Research) and the Taiwan Metal Industry Research and Development Center (referred to as the Metal Center) in Sendai, Japan, represented by both sides - Takahashi Hiroshi, Director of Tohoku University, and Fuji Center, CEO of the Metal Center. - Signed a memorandum of cooperation on key technologies and process studies for additive manufacturing and metal materials, and hopes to further cooperate in the field of energy research in the future.

Japan's Tohoku University's metal materials field is currently ranked first in the world. Its Institute of Metal Materials is the oldest of the six research institutes attached to Northeastern University. It has been engaged in the research of materials science and its applications. The two scientists won the Nobel Prize. The institute has internationally renowned reputation for advanced equipment and technical energy for additive manufacturing, magnetic materials, biocompatible materials, and functional materials.

The metal center successfully developed the nickel-titanium alloy powder for additive manufacturing by combining its own nickel-titanium alloy design and smelting technology energy with the technical energy of Jinyan's powder and electron beam additive manufacturing, and constructed the first electron beam additive in Taiwan. Manufacturing laboratories to assist Taiwan's medical device industry to seize the customized high-end medical materials market.

In the future, the two parties will continue to work together in this joint research and development model, combining their innovative R&D capabilities such as 3D printing equipment, process, and smelting, and set up joint laboratories to share their R&D resources. In addition, the research on the visitorship of both parties was promoted, and the research projects of the other units were continuously promoted. And research and analysis on new topics, such as key materials on energy issues. It is expected to expand the cooperation projects between the two parties through the signing of the memorandum of cooperation.
